Health Equity Bus Tour Church-Based Free Clinic, 8 Ward Monument, Downtown Harrisburg Murals, Hamilton Health Center FQHC

Join us for an immersive weekend exploring health equity in action. Participants will learn to prepare nutritious, budget-friendly meals, build skills for coaching patients with limited resources, and visit community organizations working to address social drivers of health and support vulnerable populations. This experience is worth 12 didactic credit hours.

Registration is required by October 1, 2026.
Overnight accommodations will be provided by AHEC Centers.

AHEC Scholars will explore how mining activities can affect local populations by focusing on the environmental, occupational and public health risks. Scholars will analyze preventative and mitigation strategies; evaluate health interventions; and determine safety protocols that can reduce the negative effects on mining on workers and surrounding communities.
